CST 311 - Week 2

This week's reading focused on the application layer, however I found the portion covering HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) the most interesting. HTTP is the Web's application layer protocol. The book provided an overview of relevant terminology and explained how a Web page is transferred from server to client. The labs we completed also provided some practical applications of what we learned for the week. The Wireshark lab this week explored the GET/response interaction in different contexts, including when long documents are retrieved, HTML documents with embedded objects, and HTTP authentication. The mininet lab this week  we also learned how to run wireshark from our mininet vm.
