CST311 - Week 4

Our class midterm was in this week's module. We covered a range of topics including Reno/Tahoe graphs, TCP/UDP in the transport layer, thoroughput and bottleneck to name a few. Additionally, this module focused on network security. I learned about Certificate Authority, which "attests to the validity of the user's public key." This explored further in our lab where we used a Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to make a more secure web server. In this instance, it was a "self-signed" certificate that began by creating a root CA. Overall, the topics for this portion of the class were informative and helped provide a better understanding of the ways in which data can be transferred in a more secured manner.
