CST 438 - Week 7

The Waterfall process, also known as Plan and Document, is an approach used to building a project. In this process, the planning and requirements are all written out in detail, followed by the design, then the actual build out of the project. These are taken step-by-step, where each of these steps must be completed first before moving onto the next. The agile process is more iterative and flexible. There are small portions called sprints that are built out by a team. Instead of having the plan mapped out, as with the Waterfall process, the team adjusts things as they go. Agile is more appropriate when a project is relying on stakeholder input and needs to be completed quickly. The Waterfall process is used when everything about the project in known ahead of time and is unlikely to change.
